Seychelles TIN Checker
Look up a Seychelles Tax Identification Number in the SRC’s public business register and see the registered name and VAT registration date.
What is a Seychelles TIN?
The TIN (Tax Identification Number) is the single, unique number the Seychelles Revenue Commission issues to each business taxpayer and uses for all tax payments. It has nine digits — for example 961900106 for Seychelles Breweries Ltd. Employees don’t get one, and a VAT-registered business’s VAT Registration Certificate shows its TIN.
Seychelles TIN format
Nine system-generated digits.
(internal checksum)
Example: 961900106 (Seychelles Breweries Ltd, as listed in the SRC’s public business register).
- Input: Spaces or hyphens are removed automatically. No SC prefix.
- What we return: The registered name and, for VAT-registered businesses, the date of VAT registration.
- Cancelled businesses: A cancelled business stays in the register; the checker flags it as not registered.
- Not a TIN: A Business Registration Number (e.g. C841033) or a National Identification Number is a different number.
How to check a Seychelles TIN
- 1 Ask the supplier for its TIN, or find it on its VAT Registration Certificate or SRC correspondence.
- 2 Enter the 9 digits above. The checker looks the TIN up in the SRC’s public business register.
- 3 Compare the returned name with the supplier, and check for a VAT registration date if it charges 15% VAT.
- 4 For the official search, see our Seychelles TIN verification guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the format of a Seychelles TIN?
Nine digits, numbers only, randomly generated by the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) with an internal checksum it does not publish. For example, Seychelles Breweries Ltd’s TIN is 961900106.
Can I look up a Seychelles TIN for free?
Yes. The SRC publishes a free search of registered businesses by TIN, trade name or business registration number, and the checker on this page looks the TIN up in that register. Our Seychelles TIN verification guide covers the official search.
Is the Seychelles TIN the same as the VAT number?
There is no separate VAT number. A VAT-registered business’s VAT Registration Certificate shows its TIN, and the register shows the date of VAT registration against it.
Do employees in Seychelles have a TIN?
No. Employment income tax is withheld by the employer under the employer’s TIN; employees are not issued one.
What is the difference between a TIN and a Business Registration Number?
The Business Registration Number (e.g. C841033) identifies the registered business; the TIN (e.g. 961900106) is the SRC tax number. The SRC register shows both, and each entity may hold only one TIN.
Does a Seychelles TIN have a check digit?
The SRC says every TIN meets a checksum requirement but does not publish the algorithm, so the checksum cannot be tested offline. The register lookup catches a mistyped TIN.
