Senegal RCCM Checker

Look up a Senegalese RCCM trade register number and see the registered name and legal form. NINEAs are not accepted.

What is an RCCM number in Senegal?

The RCCM number is the registration number a Senegalese business receives when it enters the Registre du Commerce et du Crédit Mobilier, the OHADA trade register kept by the court registry. It reads as SN, a court code, a year, a letter and a running number — for example SN DKR 1974 B 61 for Sonatel. The tax number is a separate NINEA.

Example: SN DKR 1974 B 61 (Société Nationale des Télécommunications du Sénégal, listed in the ANSD national directory).

  • Separators: Spaces, hyphens or dots are all fine; the checker normalises them.
  • Letters: B is used for companies; C appears on GIEs and cooperatives in the register.
  • Not accepted: A NINEA (the tax number) or an older RCCM without the SN prefix.
  • Availability: The register lookup is sometimes slow or unavailable. If the result says the registry was temporarily unavailable, try again later — it does not mean the number is invalid.

How to check a Senegalese RCCM number

  1. 1 Find the RCCM number on the supplier’s invoice, order form or letterhead — OHADA law requires it there, usually alongside the NINEA.
  2. 2 Enter it above. The checker looks the number up in the register and returns the registered name and legal form.
  3. 3 If the register is temporarily unavailable, retry later rather than treating the number as invalid.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the RCCM and the NINEA?

The RCCM number comes from the court registry (greffe) when a business enters the OHADA trade register. The NINEA is Senegal’s national identifier for businesses and associations, managed by the ANSD, and the tax code calls it the tax identification number. A company needs its RCCM before it can obtain a NINEA.

What does an RCCM number look like? (Format du numéro RCCM)

SN, a three-letter court code, a four-digit year, a letter and a running number — for example SN DKR 1974 B 61 for Sonatel (DKR = Dakar). Older numbers registered before the SN prefix look like 7488 B 97 DAKAR.

Can I check a NINEA with this checker?

Not yet. The checker accepts current RCCM numbers only (SN + court code + year + letter + number); a NINEA or an older RCCM without the SN prefix is not accepted.

Which number must appear on a Senegalese invoice?

Both. The tax code requires the supplier’s name, address and NINEA on the invoice, and VAT can be deducted only on compliant invoices. OHADA commercial law also requires a registered business to show its RCCM number and place of registration on invoices and commercial documents.

Does an RCCM number have a check digit?

No. It is a court code, a year, a letter and a running number, so only a register lookup can confirm that it exists.

Do associations have an RCCM number?

No. Associations, foundations and mutuals are not on the trade register; they have a NINEA but no RCCM number.
